PowerWalker Unveils Solar Inverter at 2023 COMPUTEX

Self-produced renewable energy surges in popularity, reducing electricity bills and providing tax benefits! Recognizing the international business opportunities in the renewable energy sector, German energy management expert “PowerWalker” showcased its solar inverters and related services at 2023 COMPUTEX. PowerWalker introduced the SAN and SVN series hybrid solar inverters for residential and commercial use, along with LiFe energy storage batteries. These products allow users to generate electricity for self-consumption using solar panels and store excess energy for selling back to the grid. This combination not only reduces electricity costs but also provides tax advantages in numerous countries worldwide.

With the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) for solar photovoltaic(PV) equipment decreasing by nearly 90% in the past decade, combined with the global trend of rising electricity prices, installing solar inverters can effectively help users reduce their electricity expenses. Furthermore, this aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of “affordable and clean energy” and “climate action,” strengthening power supply resilience to address climate change and provide a more sustainable living environment for future generations.

PowerWalker’s hybrid solar inverters, SAN and SVN series, along with the LiFe energy storage batteries, meet the ISO 9001 quality management system and ISO 14001 environmental management system standards. They also comply with the European Union’s RoHS directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), which aims to eliminate ten substances, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers, from electrical and electronic products. The directive specifies that the lead content should not exceed 0.1%, contributing to environmental protection and human health.

Additionally, PowerWalker offers over 50 series and nearly 400 power management products that can be remotely monitored in real-time through their developed PowerGlow energy management platform. Users can dynamically adjust their energy usage through their mobile devices, enabling better control and allocation of energy resources.

The German parliament has approved a new package of tax breaks for rooftop PV, including a value-added tax exemption for PV systems up to 30 kW in size.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has accelerated Europe’s energy transition, with various European countries encouraging households to install solar energy storage systems and integrate them with smart grids for self-consumption. Germany took the lead by approving a new package of tax breaks for rooftop PV, including a value-added tax(VAT, originally set at 19%) exemption for PV systems up to 30 kW in size. Similarly, starting from 2023, the Netherlands reduces the VAT applied to PV systems used in residential applications from 21 to 0%. These policies contribute to the shift from centralized to decentralized power systems.

According to the latest data from SolarPower Europe, more than one million residential battery energy storage systems (BESS) were installed in Europe in 2022, with the annual installation rate predicted to increase in the coming years (see reference 1 for data source).
